The halfway point in the FIA World Touring Car Cup was a difficult one for Andy Priaulx with him finishing 22nd, 18th and 18th respectively in the three races in his Lynk & Co 03 TCR. Germany’s Nürburgring Nordschleife has in the past been a happy hunting ground for Andy, but it was not to be like that for him in his Cyan Racing prepared car. His summary of the weekend was: “I always like to look at the positives and I have just raced on one of the most exciting tracks. Lots of laps round the Nordschleife is always good as you can find out so much about yourself and the car. “Unfortunately the weekend turned out pretty difficult for both me personally and the rest of the Cyan Racing family. It started off pretty tough with me missing FP1, but qualifying was more positive for all of us. I took some fairly big hits in the races and race three was particularly bad as, after a lot of heavy contact, my race was ruined and I ended up with a puncture. Definitely a weekend to put behind us, so now we have to look forward and do some work on the cars as we were lacking in overall performance. However, as always, the team worked hard and I am confident we can start to turn things round.” The next WTCR race is in a couple of weeks at the Vila Real street circuit in Portugal.
